On the surface of Cryloth Quintus, the smell of burning flesh and promethium was still permeating in the air. Far off in the distance the sound of artillery shells rumble as they hit the ground, only to be cut off by the roar of jet engines of valkyries coming to land. The airborne carriers, apart from some very distinct features almost blended into the desert sands surrounding it, from a distance you may not even be able to tell they were there.
From one of them four men stepped out who apart from two were all dressed very differently. The first was a man who wore a very well-made black leather greatcoat, a tall peaked cap and a commissariat badge of the Officio Prefectus. His facial features almost as sharp as the power sword on his hip. The Next wore a long blue uniform with an almost equally long black hat, the sleeves and trousers were white giving some contrast of colour, except at the end of the left arm where it ended in a metal hook and a badge on his collar showing the markings of the imperial navy. He appears to be talking through a communication device in his right ear as his remaining hand seems to be holding it in place. The man following was wearing guardsmen fatigues, a red peaked cap with skull embossed on it, a camo cloak draped around his neck and Officer markings of a major on his lapels. He seemed quite young for an officer while carrying a stack of papers and listening to the orders of the last man to leave. This man also wearing the desert fatigues and red cap the previous officer had however his entire left arm and left side of his face have been replaced with cybernetics, his chest was covered with various coloured ribbons with medals attached and the lapel markings of colonel.
He turned to the younger officer "Major Whittaker, I've been summoned to speak with Governor General Di Scouri probably regarding the mission at Trauten Gorge, your in command until i return, understand?", "yes sir" replied the major. "Lord Commissar Locke, Flight Lieutenant Aubrey, I ask that you forward all reports to the major, he has my authority as regimental commander until my return" they responded with a salute. A shout came from outside the main command tent "Governor General Di Scouri". "Ah Colonel Cranis, please do come in" she responded, "you asked to see me?". "Yes, i wanted to talk to you", "is this about what happened at Trauten Gorge?" ask Colonel Cranis. "No, and i would suggest you don't bring that up. Your lucky I don't have you shot for insubordination". "If i hadn't had done that we-" the general cut him off "ENOUGH, this is not why i called you here. We received an astropathic message dated from three days ago". The general taps a data-slate which plays the recording from Krillion, "so, a major Greenskin invasion on Krillion". "It would appear so, i need you and your 86th airborne to make preparations for departure immediately". "Any backup?" Ask the colonel, "you're it" the general responded, "great" said the colonel with a hint of sarcasm. "I'll make preparations at once" "I expect you to be on your way within the next forty eight hours standard". The colonel offered a salute and stepped out of the tent.
Cranis placed a comm-bead in his ear and placed finger on it, "Flight Lieutenant Aubrey, i need you to arrange embankment with ship master Nero of the heavy carrier Lyondis Prophecy. A voice crackled through the static, "Aye sir, I'll get right on it, do we know the destination?" "Krillion, sounds like they're in deep" "Understood colonel". After a brief moment of static Aubrey's voice came through again "they can be ready for us to embark in twelve hours, estimated arrival date is nine weeks standard", "good to know, tell them we’ll begin embarkation procedures in twelve hours, over and out".
