[A long time ago]
"Mayday! Mayday! This is the Oath of Exilium! We are being attacked! I repeat we are being attacked! This is the Oath of Exilium. A Colony ship! Explorative code 1109, Civilian priority!
Mayday! Mayday! They are striking for our Life Support! This is the Oath of Exilium! Explorative code 1109..."
"This is no use...! Hail the attacker! We may be able to bargain..." The Captain was ever the optimist, though he had met captains who had dared the impossible and lived to the tale.
"This is the Oath of Exilium, I am her Captain, Titus Krill. To whom am I hailing...?"
There was static silence.
"This is the Oath of Exilium, a colonising starship, please ceasing firing. we carry a civilian population. We are not a threat."
"Captain, they aren't responding. They are now targeting our engines..."
The Captain swore.
"Sir, I've managed to identify the ship... The Luna Maiden."
"Luna what...? Never heard of it..."
The Oath of Exilium shook violently as it's engines ignited internally, venting it's precious plasma fuel.
The bridge was a hive of activity, klaxons and alerts. Data terminal becoming overwhelmed by the information to report.
"Sir, we are too close to the approaching planet...the gravitational pull...with our engines lost we..."
"I'm already aware" confirmed the Captain. "Brace for a crash landing, get the emergency protocols in place. If we are going to survive this...The bow is going to have to take the brunt of it...start praying to the God-Emperor..."
The Captain looked to the locker beside his command throne. The Lectitio Divinitatus stashed inside. A book of miracles. He hoped for a miracle now as the Oath of Exilium came screeching into the atmosphere, the ship breaking apart from its wounds. Below he saw a peaceful looking world, covered in green. Untouched by humanity. Blossoming and blooming. Thriving with richness.
He hoped they would survive, to be able to embrace such a world.
The first large impact occurred. The world would be changed forever.
****
The planet which would one day become known as Krillion was thrown in to turmoil. The impact of the Oath of Exilium rendered the world a new. It's tectonic plates shattering under the impact, rearranging it's landmass. Wiping out entire species and burning it's lush and vibrant foilage to ash.
Krillion would become unrecognisable, and it wouldn't be for generations until the world revealed what it had hid.
[Days after the crash]
Darkness. Nothing but darkness. The world still groaning and aching, could still be heard down here. Deep down. Krillion had buried its secret with an earthquake and mudslide. Perhaps hoping one day to exact it's revenge on the foreign invaders. The construct of blackstone, along with it's contents and guardians had sunk out of sight. The Wilds would grow and cover it up, hiding it. The only light came from a flicker of static. A single sign that the Vaults had been breached.
[Weeks before the 'The Krillion Invasion']
Darkness. Silence. Then a hum. More static light jumped and illuminated it's surroundings, until the pressure became too much and green eldritch-like energy burst. The Blackstone holding pylons fractured and in a blast of the same energy, where the chamber was empty, now stood The Beast.
Warboss Diemunz studied the area. Watching flicker lightning dance across dark smooth walls and structures. Perplexed, confused and dizzy.
More blasts of green energy surrounded him as strange glyphs materialised around the chamber. Diemunz was no longer alone and the silence was broken by puzzling grunts and wails coming from Orks, who had once not been there but now were. Pouring out of the green energy in ever greater numbers.
Diemunz watched as his mighty Waaagh! filled up the chamber and he let out a thundering roar to which the boyz were all to happy to imitate. It was then when creatures stirred from darkened hallways and phased through the blackstone. Diemunz and his clan were set upon by the Vault's Canoptek guardians. The Warboss grinned with delight, smashed the nearest structure and got his blood pumping for the engagement. His lieutenant, Boss Rumbathump stumbled from his portal, saw his Warboss, saw a fight, and grinning despite being in a daze - jumped in.
By the time the Orks had finished off the Canoptek creatures, the chamber was wrecked.
More lights flickered and static glyphs materialised as the Greenskin made their way outside and eventually found their way to the surface of Krillion.
