[Prelude] Snippets from Krillion #1

#1:

"Alright lads," the burly hunter slammed a dessicated sawtail carcass on the table, "who's been hunting in my turf?"
"What're you on about Kravik? You've gotta be the only man in Valor mad enough to dive into a sawtail den! Hell, I doubt there's anyone on Krillion who's that mad."
"You're damn right, I've paid good gelt to the lodge for that spot. Now fess up, one of you's trying to take me out, you carved up the whole den, butchered like baitworms!"

"Ain't no-one taken out an entire sawtail den, not even you, stop lying. You's makin' other folks here twitchy..."

The snow fell as it always had done. Gently and soothing until the chill in the wind whipped it against your face.
Chapel-Master Leonis drew his robes tighter around his frame, as he strode around the grounds of the Cathedral. The brothers and sisters he walked past, would respectfully nod without making a sound. None would wish to disturb the Chapel-Master on his morning prayer walk.
Just as everyday Leonis seek the Emperor's Will, desiring above all to receive a vision, such as the one the Holy Saint was granted that founded this place all those centuries ago.

The serenity and peace was instantly shattered as a vibration was felt within the rocks beneath their feet. A plume of smoke rocketed high into the air to the west. Believers that had been walking between the Cathedral and Salvation Lake immediately stood still with mouths aghast as they stared at what could be nothing more than a bad omen.
Panic surrounded the Cathedral of Light, but the snow fell as it always had done.
